More on Mother Matcha
Energy + Calm - Matcha tea is unique because the process of shading and harvesting increases the content of L-Theanine, an amino acid that helps balance the caffeine. While matcha may contain the same caffeine as other types of tea, the L-Theanine is known to create calmness without drowsiness
Weight Loss - EGCG, found in high concentrations in Matcha, has been shown to increase the rate of burning stored fat as energy, as well as decreasing the formation of new fat cells. Other studies have shown that the catechins in Matcha increase the body’s rate of calorie burning each day and offered additional fat burning benefit during exercise
Healthy Heart - A 2011 study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition showed that the catechins in green tea had a significant effect on lowering LDL cholesterol. A 2013 Cochrane review also showed that regular green tea consumption was associated with lower blood pressure and a decreased risk of stroke
Brain Power - The L-Theanine in green tea is known to help stimulate alpha brain waves. These waves are known for their ability to help increase focus and concentration
Source of Chlorophyll - The process of shading the Matcha leaves creates an increased amount of Chlorophyll, which some preliminary research has shown may help the body eliminate heavy metals and another harmful buildup. Research is still lacking in this area, but many alternative doctors recommend Chlorophyll for this purpose
Skin Health - The same antioxidants that make green tea protective, including epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), may also help support skin health by reducing inflammation and free radicals that accelerate skin aging.
PS - Matcha has some amazing benefits, but one important caution and potential downside: lead. It is important to buy your matcha from a trusted source and stick to Organic Matcha! Our Mother Matcha is USDA certified organic and goes through a heavy metal detecting and removing process.
Matcha is traditionally known to be a ceremonial drink. Make the preparation and sipping of your Mother Matcha drink an opportunity to slow down, appreciate its delicate flavors, and be present in the moment. This way, you are guaranteed not only to feel the obvious but also the subtle benefits of matcha.
Matcha is much more than a tea or just a drink. It is an experience!
HOW IS MATCHA DIFFERENT FROM GREEN TEA
What’s the difference between 'green tea' and 'matcha green tea'?
When you drink traditional green tea, the leaves are infused in hot water. Components from the leaves are infused in the water and then the leaves are discarded before drinking.
With Matcha, you’re drinking the actual leaves that have been stone ground into a fine powder and mixed with the hot water.
Because Matcha is made from high-quality tea, the whole leaves are ingested and it is a more potent source of nutrients than regular green tea.
MATCHA is rich in antioxidants called Polyphenols that have been linked to protection against diseases and cancer, improve blood sugar regulation, blood pressure reduction, and anti-aging. Another polyphenol in matcha called EGCG has been shown in research to boost metabolism and slow or halt the growth of cancer cells.
Drinking Matcha should be a calming, relaxing and meditative experience which is known to improve blood sugar regulation & blood pressure, boost metabolism and have anti-aging properties.
One cup of matcha has about the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee. But matcha drinkers say that the caffeine in matcha gives an “alert calm” as compared to the buzz from coffee.
